Roadtrip 2016 Fall: Vancouver - Yakima - Bend - John Day River - Port Orford - Florence - Seaside - Vancouver

Day 29 - snooping the byways towards Bandon

First up, we try to get into little known Blacklock Point, and find the trail is largely swamp, thanks to yesterday's heavy rain. Wendy and Emma dubiously look at this lake rounding.

Emma tries the low road, while Wendy takes the high.

The high road is only fun until you get stuck in a bush.

Even the swamp trees look especially miserable.

A small ford is no worries for the 4 runner.

Yes! After a whole afternoon of snooping we find the crashed alien spacecraft they've been trying to hide. All those guys in black suits in the coffee shop whispering to each other are always a giveaway.

This is one crazy piece of twisted metal - evidence of crash damage is apparent - we suspect they may have quickly removed and hidden other pieces in the top secret low lying stealth local cranberry bogs. Did ya' really think they grew that many cranberries around here?

We take photos from many angles - we're sure if we return tomorrow this will all be gone.

There are no shortages of mushrooms in these here woods - and the local are out in force harvesting. Wish we knew the poisonous from the hallucinogenic from the just plain tasty.

We finally resort to a nice grassy horse trail. Emma is pleased.
